Plea for help. Child abduction.

Dear Friends and Family,

***If you see either of them, message me.***

***I need to have a narrowed down location to give the police.***

I believe my son, Jacob George Halliday Cote, has been kidnapped by his father, Christopher Jason Cote (www.facebook.com/ccote).

Chris was supposed to take Jacob to visit his paternal grandmother, Ida Cote-Persson, and her husband, John Persson, with family in Arizona. He was leaving December 15th and returning December 23rd. He told me they were meeting at the Phoenix Airport and going from there. He then reported to me on December 19th that he left on the 18th and would definitely be back by the 23rd. He also told me he was near Tucson, in Oracle, AZ, but wouldn’t give me an address. He asked me on December 23rd if he could bring Jacob home on the 24th to drive overnight and avoid nasty traffic. I said yes. He then called me the morning of the 24th and said he was having car trouble. Apparently, it’s possible for an engine to fall out of a vehicle onto the road. Yeah… Chris said no when I offered to drive or fly there myself to pick up Jacob. He still won’t tell me where he is.

He has not returned as of December 30th, 2011.

After reporting this to the police, I have learned (today) that Ida has not seem him, was not with him on Christmas, and doesn’t know where he is. His location is unknown. His landlord has notified me that his room has been cleared out.

He drives a dark green Subaru Outback (guessing 1998-2002). He is 5’10” 190 lbs. He’s balding considerably, but typically wears an Abercrombie and Fitch dirty khaki baseball cap. The hair which does peak out of his hat is light brown/dark blonde and he has blue eyes. His back is hairy and his belly hangs over his waistband. He’s probably wearing blue jeans and black boots or brown hiking boots.

I need my friends’ and Facebook’s help in locating Chris and Jacob immediately. The police said that because of the holidays, nothing more will be done on the case until Monday, January 2nd, 2012.

I believe Chris may be fleeing to Eastern Canada, where he grew up, and the majority of his old friends and distant relatives currently reside. St John, New Brunswick, is a likely location. But seeing as how he was leaving from Los Angeles, there’s no telling where he might be right now. Please help locate him and notify the local authorities of a possible child abduction.
